Programme Overview

Bachelor of Business Management (Honours) is primary to prepare the students with business fundamental knowledge, skills and technique relevant to the needs of the industry either in the corporate world, government or non-profit sectors. This programme offers students with uncompromising quality learning experiences in the cotemporary, interesting and stimulating business education covering all important area of managing business including management, marketing, retailing, accounting & financing and entrepreneurship.

Students will explore key issues facing by business managers such as internal/external strategy, ethics, leadership and change management. It will build the students skills, knowledge and confidence to prepare them as a successful leader to manage their own business team in future. Our program is taught by industry professionals and specialist in their fields who are able to impart real experience and updated solutions to the students.

All students of Bachelor of Business Management will undergo a 20 weeks internship during their final year. And we prioritise the internship placement among KPJ Group for higher chance for the capable students to get employed.

Career Opportunity

This Bachelor of Business Management prepares students for entry-level positions at the supervisory level of large organizations, as small business owners/managers, or as team leaders for innovative organizations. The primary area of employment that the graduates may join are human resources, entrepreneurship, sales, general management and finance. The examples of jobs are such as administrative managers, Credit Officer, Financial Analyst, Personnel Recruiter, Budget Officer and Compensation Officer.

Financing your Study

For 2023, KPJ offers a lot of opportunities for Scholarship for Bachelor of Business Management in the form of Biasiswa by Merit and Dermasiswa based on Financial Need that reflects our commitment in grooming future professionals and leaders in the healthcare sector.  With the combination of PTPTN loan and our Scholarship, many students may not need to pay any tuition or fee during their studies and in addition will receive Pocket Money of RM200 per month. To ensure smooth clinical training at our 28 KPJ Specialist Hospitals, we provide Free-of-Charge (FOC) off-campus accommodation for all Bachelor students throughout their study as well as their 1st year on-campus accommodation in Nilai.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

Malaysian students:

  • A pass in STPM with at least Grade C (GP 2.0) in any TWO subjects*; OR
  • A pass in STAM with at least Grade Jayyid*; OR
  • Matriculation or Foundation with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
  • A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
  • An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
  • A Diploma in Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s Approval***; OR
    Note for (Advanced Diploma) & (Diploma Lanjutan): The HEPs are to conduct screening and provide necessary guidance specific to the discipline of the programme
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government

PROGRAMME DETAILS

This course equips students with the foundations in introductory accounting. Students undertake an in-depth analysis of the asset side of the balance sheet. Pertinent elements include understanding the appropriate treatment of cash, temporary investments, receivables, inventories, long-term investments, capital assets with particular emphasis on the revenue recognition principle.

This course provides an overview of the major aspects of business law. Among the topics examined are the Malaysian Legal System, Law of Contract, Law of Agency and business organization.

This course allows students to explore the world of technology and information systems in modern business scenarios. Students are exposed to a repertoire of current information and communication technologies that are used to facilitate business processes in the contemporary world and share various concepts of information and communication technologies solutions to manifest its application during work venture.

This course will expose students to a repertoire of basic management knowledge and managerial skills, focusing on functions of management such as planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. This course will enhance students understanding of management practices, challenges and changes in the local and global markets.

This course allows students to explore basic concepts of micro and macroeconomics and its application in daily decision makings of individuals, business firms, and the government. The course also exposes students to relate the principles and concepts in macroeconomics, such as national income accounting, macroeconomic problems and policies and international economics in today’s dynamic business setting..

This course will expose students to a repertoire of basic management knowledge and managerial skills, focusing on functions of management such as planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. This course will enhance students understanding of management practices, challenges and changes in the local and global markets..

This course is designed to enable students to understand various concepts of finance. It covers financial ratios, financial statements, cash budget, time value of money, working capital management, sources of financing and capital budgeting.

This course allows student to explore various pertinent concepts relating to the operations functions in both manufacturing and service. Students are exposed to the characteristics of operation managers, and also relationship between operations, productivity and competitiveness. The operations process is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling resources in order to efficiently and effectively produces goods and services so as to meet the goals of an organization.

The course allows students to explore various human resource functions in contemporary business scenarios. Human Resource Management encompasses a comprehensive set of functions such as human resource planning, job analysis, recruitment, training, designing performance appraisal and compensation system and labor relations. All these are necessary for developing a motivated, effective and efficient staff towards the attainment of strategic organizational objectives

This course exposes the students to all the essential elements of international business. The students will examine the future scenarios of international business; examine the countervailing forces that make decision-making in international business complex and the dynamic nature of the global business environment.

This course emphasize on the understanding the importance of service operations in daily business activity. In order to grasp the concept better, this course will also assess the appropriate approach to solve the problem in service operations. These will include the use of the methodologies in gathering and analyzing the issues in decision making. Students are encourage to discuss and relate the current events into the service operations of a business.

The course seeks to impart a holistic approach to personal enhancement, incorporating the components of personal success, namely; positive intrapersonal skills, good interpersonal skills, ethics, and leadership skills.

This course provides the framework of financial planning by focusing on managing and organizing personal financial resources. It incorporates insurance planning which stresses the importance of protecting financial resources, investment planning for growth of resources, and long-term planning for old age survival.

This subject emphasizes on the basic knowledge of customer service and technology fundamentals in business today. It also emphasizes a thorough understanding of customer service industry and explore the knowledge of current trends that lead to the successful implementation of customer service. It places a special emphasis on self-assessment and the mastery of the knowledge to improve individual and corporate productivity.

This course emphasizes on the economic issues and policies from Malaysia and global perspectives. Poverty, unemployment etc. will be amongst the current issues to be looked into. In order to understand these issues better, this course will also discuss the government policies in Malaysia and other countries.

The focus of this course is to nurture a basic appreciation for entrepreneurship from the perspective of the individual entrepreneur. Emphasis is on the entrepreneurial mindset and decision process the individual encounters as he pursues entrepreneurial opportunities, creates new ventures and deals with business management issues

This course provides knowledge and issues related to product management. Starting from product evaluation until the new product development. This course is important in today business world as an abundance of new products are created every single day.

This subject will discuss about reviewing, monitoring, and improving subordinates performance. It plays a crucial role in minimizing the gap between experience and actual performance and ensuring organizational objectives and goals are met.

The course introduces students to a systematic research process aimed at providing requisite knowledge and practical investigation skills in preparation for them to conduct research in the final semester of the program. It guides the students to blend all information on the research process. The course exposes the students to both quantitative and qualitative research methods.

This course integrates business functional areas that students have learnt in their earlier semesters essential in diagnosing business situations from a strategic point of view. The course allows students to develop logical thinking, decision making and leadership skills critical for their business or professional careers.

This subject integrates decisions making with relative profit potential of investment alternative such as technical parameters with respect to costs, profits, savings, the choice of time, tax and loyalty, project life and so on. This consideration alternatives is a vital stage to make the best choice decision in investing scenario.

This course emphasis is on the application of the methods rather than pure mathematics. It covers a number of quantitative methods such as Decision Analysis, Linear Programming, Transportation and Assignment Models, Project Management, Inventory Control Models and Simulation. This course will explain how the methods work and how they can be applied and interpreted by the decision-maker.
