Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science with Health Sciences (Hons) is a unique career-oriented degree programme offered by KPJ Healthcare University College, Nilai. The programme is fully accredited by MQA and KPT. Students of this programme acquire readily employable skills for pharmaceutical and healthcare industries through the integration of theoretical principles and practical training at the highly sophisticated pilot scale laboratory within the campus. Besides that, the industrial training, and research ensures to develop the skills for address the current and future challenges in pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

HANDS-ON SOPHISTICATED LAB EXPERIENCE
The BPS students get a wide experience in terms of laboratory work by engaging themselves in the Centre of Excellence for Pharmaceutical Sciences. This centre is equipped with sophisticated analytical equipment such as HPLC, Gas Chromatography, FTIR, Flame Photometry and many more. The centre also has its own line of tablet manufacturing which provides hands-on experience for undergraduates even before stepping into the real industry out there.

The School of Pharmacy, through the Centre of Excellence forms the strong integration between academia and industry by collaborating in various industrial projects. These industries engage our students as trainees in their final semester and this paves the pathway to a solid employment opportunity. Financing your Study
Moving into 2023, KPJ offers Scholarship for Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science in the form of Biasiswa by Merit that reflects our commitment in grooming future pharmaceutical and healthcare scientists. With the combination of PTPTN and our Scholarship, students may need to pay very little tuition fee. Alumni of KPJUC are also given the Alumni Scholarship of 10% which enables a further deduction in fee. With confirmed industrial training at reputable organisations, students can aspire to work in these industries after graduating. All Bachelor students will also enjoy free-of-charge on-campus accommodation in Nilai for the first year.

This module describes the basic principle of chemistry. Topics covered in lecture include atomic structure, states of matter, stoichiometry and various types of chemical reaction.
This module provides basic knowledge and in depth understanding, in relation to the structure of the human body and the function of various organs. It also provides a foundation for students to learn subjects such as Pathophysiology Pharmacology. Knowledge regarding how the body functions is essential to understand procedures and drug action.
This module describes about the structure and functions of prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms ,growth of microorganism in laboratory conditions, methods involved in isolation and identification of microorganisms and controlling of microorganism and also includes microbial interactions with human and environment.
This module will enable students to understand their roles in the pharmaceutical and healthcare field by providing them with the basic knowledge and information. The module introduces the career prospects to the students in the field of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare.
This tertiary level English course prepares students with the appropriate methods of literature search through analysis of research materials (validity of content) for researching purposes and developing proposal. The students are also learning the proper structure of composing argumentative essay, as well as the correct languages in delivering arguments. For the purposes of writing skills for report, the students also learn the process of writing and report writing. Other than that, the students also gain the knowledge and skills of thinking critically to produce Critical Review and Proposal. Preparing referencing from various sources of relevant information is also learnt in this course for research purposes
Kursus ini membincangkan ilmu ketamadunan yang meliputi pengenalan ilmu ketamadunan, perkembangan dan interaksi ketamadunan dalam Tamadun Islam, Melayu, CIna, India serta isu ketamadunan kontemporari dalam Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia. Kursus ini bertujuan memberi kefahaman mengenai setiap elemen tersebut dan implikasinya terhadap proses pembangunan negara. Selain itu, perbincangan dan perbahasan dalam kursus ini turut berperanan dalam usaha melahirkan pelajar yang mengetahui warisan sejarah negara, memupuk nilai murni, mempunyai jati diri kebangsaan dan menghargai kepelbagaian.
This module covers on entry level organic chemistry. Topics covered in lectures include basic principles of organic chemistry, nomenclature of organic compounds, Stereochemistry, nucleophilic aliphatic substitution reactions and elimination reactions, nucleophilic addition reactions, electrophilic addition reactions and free radical reactions.
This module consists of two major lesson to be achieved by the learner, which are Basic Life Support module adopted from American Heart Association guideline and Emergency First Aid module adopted from The American National Red Crosses Association guideline in managing emergency case occur in workplace. The learner will attain the knowledge and skills to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations in the workplace.
This module covers topics include cell injury and causes, pathogenesis of cell injury, atrophy, hypertrophy, inflammation, mediators and repair mechanism.The subject also covers pathophysiology of various infectious and noninfectious diseases as well as common disorders to human body.
This module describes about the basic concepts of drug receptor interaction , and molecular aspects of drug action. The unit also covers on the description of the physiology and pharmacology of drugs acting on cardiovascular system, respiratory system and haemopoietic system.
This module covers the basic concepts of dosage forms & its properties including pharmaceutical calculations and understanding theoretical and practical background of monophasic and biphasic dosage forms
Kursus ini membincangkan konsep asas, latar belakang dan realiti sosial masa kini hubungan etnik di Malaysia dari perspektif kesepaduan sosial. Tujuan kursus ini ialah memberikan kesedaran dan penghayatan dalam mengurus kepelbagaian ke arah pengukuhan negara bangsa.Pengajaran dan pembelajaran akan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pembelajaran berasaskan pengalaman melalui aktiviti individu, berpasukan dan semangat kesukarelaan. Pada akhir kursus ini, pelajar diharapkan dapat mengamalkan nilai-nilai murni, mempunyai jati diri kebangsaan, dan menerima kepelbagaian sosio-budaya etnik di Malaysia.
This module provides continuation of organic chemistry knowledge as well as relationship between organic chemistry and pharmaceutical science. Topics covered in lectures include theory of resonance, electrophilic aromatic substitution reactions, heterocyclic chemistry, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, medicinally important heteroaromatic compounds, carboxylic acids, amines and phenols.
Topics covered in this module include bio-energetics, enzymes and co-enzymes, biochemistry and biotransformation of macromolecules such as carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and nucleic acids and biochemical parameters with their significance
Topics covered in this module include the theoretical principles of powder, semisolid dosage preparations, suppositories and pessaries, as well as biological products. The principles as well as hands-on skills are taught in the preparations of powders, creams, gels and suppositories. This topic also enables the students to understand the biological products and its preparations, and discuss the biological products and their preparations through team based learning
This module focuses on the physico-chemical properties of drug molecules such as pH, solubility, interfacial phenomena, diffusion and dissolution, rheology, micromeritics and study of disperse systems.
This module describes the physiology and concepts of pharmacology of autonomic nervous, endocrine, reproductive and immune system. It will enable the learner to understand the various chemical transmission process and the drugs modifying it.
The topics covered in the module include basic principles, design and working of machineries or equipment required for various pharmaceutical processes like heat transfer, extraction, evaporation, distillation, drying, mixing, size reduction and separation, crystallization, filtration, centrifugation and a general concept of layout design of a pharmaceutical plant
Topics covered in this module include the basic principles of medicinal chemistry that deals with the pharmacokinetics and physicochemical properties of drug molecules, drug metabolism, drug design and discovery, SAR and QSAR.
Topics covered in this module include concepts and steps in preformulation studies of conventional and novel drug delivery systems, stability kinetics, biopharmaceutical and pharmacokinetic principles in the development of dosage forms, bioavailability and bioequivalence studies with relevant regulatory guidelines
The main objective of this module is to introduce the learners on aspects of qualitative and quantitative analytical methods and their applications using chemical,and instrumental analytical methods
This module describes about the various physiological aspects of central nervous system and the pharmacology of drugs on nervous system. The subject also includes the common problems associated with drugs of abuse. It describes the possible measures in controlling drug abuse.
This module provides basic knowledge on cultivation, collection and processing of medicinal plants. Further, a representative drug from different morphological sources will be discussed in detail, involving the description of their macro- and microscopical characteristics. The geographical distribution, cultivation, collection, chemical constituents and their uses will be emphasized, which will be made even clearer when students go for field work to appreciate medicinal plants in their natural environment. In addition, the course covers the study of fibres used in surgical dressings and products used in filtration.
Topics covered in this module include extraction, isolation and identification of secondary metabolites/ phytoconstituents and their chemistry, microscopic analysis, primary and secondary plant metabolic pathways and Plant tissue culture, various herbal formulations, standardization of crude drugs and herbal formulations.
This module describes the different aspects of chemotherapy, infection control and management using antimicrobials, antiprotozoal and antihelmintic drugs. The units also deal with the drugs acting on endocrine system such as drugs used in the treatment of diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, pituitary and adrenal gland disorders.
This module introduces to the scale up techniques of various dosage forms and selection of appropriate excipients and other techniques in the formulation of tablets, capsules, sterile preparations, and aerosols.
This course aims to develop the understanding on principles underlying the techniques used in spectroscopy and chromatography including their applications to pharmaceutical industry.
This course introduces learners to the principles of biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics. The students are exposed to pharmacokinetics model and calculations. The skills are developed through lecturers and practical and case based learning.
This modules covers central dogma of molecular biology, vectors and tools used in recombinant DNA technology, production of recombinant DNA products such as insulin,growth hormones,interferons and recombinant vaccines and also includes monoclonal antibodies, gene therapy, stem cells, cell and tissue culture, transgenic animals and biotechnological applications in pharmaceutical industries.
This course will enable the students to comprehend the role of allied health professionals in ensuring safety at workplace. It covers the legislation aspect, various occupational hazards, classification of risk, occupational related injuries, disorders and hierarchy of hazards control.

This course is specifically designed for the students requiring comprehensive, clear and accurate knowledge and skills about the cosmetic preparations which includes skin-care products, hair-care products, make-up preparations, baby products, dental products and the types and classification of perfumes. There are practical and case based learning incorporated for this module.

This module deals with all the components of marketing like product, place, price, and promotion of pharmaceuticals. It contains topics related to concepts of management, principles of management and functions of management like planning, organizing, directing, leading, motivating and controlling. This course focuses on the organizational, management and technology issues related to the pharmaceutical sales and marketing.
Topics covered in the module include the types of hospitals and importance of location and layout of a hospital and overall management of hospital facilities in terms of staff, equipment, information system, hospital inventory management and disaster management etc.

The planning, management, intervention and implementation of the health promotion is taught in the module. The students will then apply the taught knowledge via presentations and projects to fulfil the requirement of this module.

Topics covered in this module include the scopes of accountancy, assessment of company performance and financial reporting, cost classification and pricing, financial decision making and investment management and performance and transfer pricing in divisionalized organizations.
This course serves as a continuation from the Research Methodology course in the 6th semester whereby a research (laboratory or field studies) would be conducted by the students in the pre-selected areas. For final assessment purposes, they are expected to present the outcomes orally as well as in the form of a dissertation (i.e. final report). The dissertation format closely follows one usually prepared for a postgraduate thesis according to the university regulations. Overall, students learn the vital hands-on research aspects, handling related issues as well as the techniques of proper academic writing, citing, referencing and where possible, conference presentation and publication in scientific journals.

This course discusses the concept of community engagement projects, preparation of proposal papers and effective project features. The purpose of the course is to provide understanding and appreciation in implementing community engagement projects. Teaching and learning will be conducted in the form of interactive lectures, group discussions, experiential learning through group activities and volunteerism. At the end of the course, students are expected to be able to practice values and ethics, leadership and teamwork as well as social responsibilities.
This course deals with the dynamics of personality development and then proceeds to guide students in comparing themselves to the ideal so that they will become more aware of their personality difficulties. It goes on to look at theories of personality development, the stages of development theories, key researchers in personality psychology, and the main influences on personality development.

This module is aimed to describe the basics of economics and its applications in pharmaceutical and Healthcare sector.. The unit describes the theories related to economics, Malaysian health care system policies and management and regulations and an overview of international pharmaceutical developments and regulation , and international pharmaceutical benefits schemes, reimbursement and pricing.
