The Basic Care Course for Healthcare Assistant program is designed to provide students with opportunities to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to function effectively as front line caregivers. Upon completion of the program, students will have the necessary training to become respected members of a healthcare team in both community and facility settings.

This program is designed to provide students with theory and skills required to become a caregiver. The major focus is in their functional abilities. Enriched with aboriginal ways of knowing and being, this program will enhance the student’s ability to play an integral role at all stages of patient care.

PROGRAMME DETAILS

This module of 4 credit hours will provide student in depth knowledge in basic nursing .Student will exposed of basic nursing like bed making ,taking vital sign and others.This module also expose the students with opportunities to develop student knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to function effectively as front line caregiver.

A module of 2 credit hour that focusing on communication skills and techniques in order to provide a good Healthcare Assistant. This modules help students to communicate well in various situations at work and in daily life.

This module of 2 credit hour provide students in basic knowledge in Anatomy and Physiology Includes the study of the gross and microscopic structure of the systems of the human body with special emphasis on the relationship between structure and function. Students will be expose and Integrates anatomy and physiology of cells, tissues, organs, the systems of the human body, and mechanisms responsible for homeostasis.
This module also explore the principles and concepts underlying Human Anatomy and Physiology. Students will be able to demonstrate awareness of systems physiology with particular focus on muscular, nervous, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems, and their integrated function

This module of 4 credit hours will provide student in depth knowledge of skill and practical in skill lab.Student will expose the skill in the skill lab with all the procedure that they learn in basic nursing and using the log book for complete their task . From this module the major focus is in providing care for people experiencing changes in their functional abilities.From this module student will play an integral role at all stages patient care
